My usual start in York. The unpleasant ride along Gillygate. This
morning there are three buses in a row and a truck on front of them.
It’s at this point I wished I’d opted for the cycle track through Bootham
Park.
I’m setting off for a route on the west of York circling round through
Tockwith, Whixley, Linton on Ouse and back to York. About 35 miles.

My sponsored ride has hit the local press in York. The story has been mainly culled from by blog so there’s nothing new in there. The Press hasn’t posted the article on their website so you can’t see it online.
There’s another sponsored cycle ride article on the same page. Brian Crosby, who is coincidentally another Riding Lights board member, was raising money for three other charities.

A pretty sight in the lengthening shadows, Wigginton and nearby Haxby ponds
seem to be in competition a few hundred yards apart on either side of
the same road. Sometimes it’s the little things on the way are what make
cycling so special.
The new saddle feels good too. I’m about to raise it a little for the
rest of the ride. In the end the right position is trial and error.
I’ll only have time for about twelve miles tonight. I like the way the
wind drops around dusk. If I time it right I can cycle out with the
wind and it’s just a whisper as I cycle home. Tonight is one of those
nights.
