The Cloud darkens

Google plans to make PCs history | Technology | The Observer

I’ve been very ethusiastic about holding my data in The Cloud, but the prospect of Google locking up my operating system, data and applications is a step too far. It’s not democratic; I would have no real say over how things work and it  feels too “big brother”. I love the convenience of “The Cloud”, but I’m beginning to think again about  the implications.

The beat of the end of the world

Today people are talking about the end of the world. The Large Hadron Collider is the cause. So what’s it all about? Well those nice people at CERN do seem to be very media aware and they’ve made a RAP video and posted it on YouTube. So wise up and boogy on down

Normally, unless they are those pretty, puffy fair-weather ones, clouds aren’t so great. They’re dreary and stormy.

But Apple’s cloud is not only puffy and fair-weather, its the beginning of the companys beautiful future.

Is it just me noticing it more or is everyone waking up to the potential of The Cloud at the same time?
