Not far from Linton is this memorial in Newton on Ouse to the Canadian Crew of a Halifax Bomber returning from a WW2 mission. The red poppies attracted me to the small stone monument. These guys must have been almost home but crashed near here before making the runway.
Sad loss of life in yet another conflict.
Help me and Riding Lights do something to help the Christain community of Palestinians caught in the crossfire of a conflict in Israel. Their numbers are diminishing as many of them lose heart and move out to safer havens. It’s not a good place to live – but not everyone either can or wants to leave their home.

Conflict must be the theme of today. Here I am at the site of the
Battle of Marston Moor. In 1644 Oliver Cromwell won a decisive victory
here in his campaign against the Royalists.
Another civil war like so many today. Freedom fighters often robbing
people of their freedom, but equally at other times it’s part of the
struggle for freedom when negotiation breaks down.
Enough contemplation. Time to mount the pedals for a few more miles.
